Teen Seriously Injured In Moped, Car Crash In Springfield; Driver Also Wounded

A 17-year-old girl was rushed to a Hampden County hospital Thursday afternoon, June 22, after her moped collided with a car, authorities said. Police have not said who was at fault.

The crash happened in the area of Hancock and Florence Streets just before 3:30 p.m., Springfield police said. When officers arrived, they found the girl with serious injuries. 

Paramedics rushed her to Baystate Medical Center for treatment. Police have not given an update on her condition. 

The car's driver was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.  

Police did not release their names.
